Nokia 3310 – Availability and price
The Nokia 3310 was unveiled during a press conference offered by HDM Global on Sunday 26 February during MWC 2017, confirming the rumors.
The Nokia 3310 (2017) can be purchased from May 15 in four different colors (blue, gray, red or bright yellow) for 59 dollars.
Nokia 3310 – Design and finishing
Do not expect the same look as your praised predecessor, Nokia has adapted a little to the times. In such a way that the Nokia 3310 is a small smartphone (115.6 x 51 x 12.8 mm), although it really can not be said to be very light; Weighs 79.6 grams. Compared to the previous model, it has a smoother lines and is less square.
On the front panel there is a physical keyboard that we will have to get back to accustom. In addition, the screen is no longer black and white, but is launched to color. Between the screen and the keyboard are three hardware buttons that will allow us to move through the menu, since this is not tactile.
On the slightly curved back is the Nokia logo, camera and LED flash. Yes, with the new Nokia 3310 you can take pictures, but no selfies!
The back cover can be removed and a removable battery is allowed to air. And, as in the old days, under the battery is the SIM slot and microSD card. At the top we find a micro USB 2.0 port and the bottom one a headphone jack.
At the moment, we do not know if there will be interchangeable housings that will allow us to customize the appearance of the device, will depend on the demand of the users. That was what one of the people responsible for Nokia said.
Having the Nokia 3310 in the hands is back to the past and yes, I must admit, it is not easy to get used to the physical buttons. As you can imagine, this phone adapts very well to the smaller hands.
Nokia 3310 – Screen
The Nokia 3310 features a small 2.4-inch QVGA (Quarter Video Graphics Array) color display and a high resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, compared to the 48 x 48 pixels of the original model, resulting in 167 ppi.
As we have said, just below the screen is the physical keyboard. Sending a message will cost us a bit, because we will have to get used to it again, where for some letters we will have to press the key several times.
Nokia 3310 – Software
The Nokia 3310 has the Nokia Series 30+ software inside. Note a browser that we can use to access e-mail, for example, or read news. We can only download Java applications and games. Unfortunately you can not download WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger: so be prepared for a true return to the past.

The Serpent, the game that a few years ago hypnotized many users around the world, is pre-installed on the device, but it is not the original version. We will find an alternative to full color. Again, to move we will use the keyboard.
In the Nokia 3310 we can also change the wallpaper. Finally, we will also find FM radio.
Nokia 3310 – Performance
The Nokia 3310 does not intend to give an Olympic performance. However, compared to the model launched in 2000, users will be able to carry files with them thanks to the 16 MB of memory expandable with microSD up to 32 GB. In the calendar we can store 2000 contacts, as well as music to play in MP3. I’m sure the most nostalgic will decide on the old ringtone.

No WiFi on the Nokia 3310, but Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity.
Nokia 3310 – Camera
Unlike the previous version, the Nokia 3310 has a 2MP camera accompanied by LED flash. It is an unassuming simple objective that simply shows a small advance made by this old phone to the “smart” world.
We will not find a front lens for selfie lovers, but I’m sure this is not the priority for those who decide to buy this device.
Nokia 3310 – Battery
The battery is undoubtedly the highlight of the Nokia 3310. Current smartphones have an Achilles heel autonomy, something that does not happen with this phone. Its 1200 mAh offers us 22 hours of calls and one month of use in standby mode.

Of course, we will have to check whether what ensures the brand is true. For this we will do a more intense test of a week, however, the question in this case is: will I be able to survive for more than a week without using WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger?

Seeing the new Nokia 3310 in the hand is very good and for those who used it in the year 2000, they will definitely feel a little trip in time. In my opinion, there is no better time than now to launch the new Nokia 3310: 2017 is a year that looks to the future (we just need to think about news in virtual reality or the internet of things), but that too Look back at the return of Super Mario Bros. Run and NES, for example.
The low price is very attractive and could get buyers. However, the Nokia 3310 could also easily end up in the pockets of new users looking for a very basic smartphone, perhaps as a secondary device. If the Nokia 3310 allowed the use of WhatsApp, it would have nailed it!
